Supporting The Cecilia Consort

The Cecilia Consort is an independent choir which relies entirely upon its members and supporters to fund all concerts and public performances.

If you enjoy our music and would like to help, there are several ways in which you could support the choir. You could become a Friend of Cecilia, volunteer as a helper at one of our concerts, you could ‘like’ our Facebook page and help us to advertise our performances by putting up posters in your neighbourhood. We are a registered charity and donations are always most welcome!

Whichever option you choose, your help and support is very much appreciated. Thank you!

  • Who are the Friends of Cecilia and how do I join?

The Friends of Cecilia are our supporters (some of whom have sung with the choir in the past) who like to be kept informed about forthcoming events. Becoming one of our ‘friends’ means receiving our newsletters about future concerts and social events, including open workshops and our very popular Cecilia Christmas Dinner. If you volunteer to help at one of our concerts e.g. selling programmes and tickets on the door, you will be offered free entry to that particular event. If you would like to become a Friend of Cecilia, please e-mail our Secretary, Libbie Mead at

  • What is involved in helping at a concert?

There are always lots of jobs to be done on a concert day. We need people to sell tickets and programmes on the door, direct traffic in the car park and serve refreshments during the interval. If you have experience of writing concert reviews, we'd also love to hear from you. If you wish to volunteer, please email our Chairman, Lucy Makin at

  • How do I donate?

Each of our concerts costs us several thousand pounds to put on. You can help raise money for the Cecilia Consort in just three easy steps whenever you buy anything online:

    1. 1. Go to and join for free.
    2. 2. Every time you shop online, go to Search for the website you need and then, start shopping.
    3. 3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to the Cecilia Consort - it's so easy to do and won't cost you any extra!
